Kentucky Regional Optical Network

Welcome to the Kentucky Regional Optical Network

The Kentucky Regional Optical Network (KyRON), an operation of the Council of Postsecondary Education, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Louisville, is the Research and Education Network that connects the Kentucky P-20 education community to the national and international research and education community through Internet2. KyRON is implementing a 4-node 100 Gbps fiber loop connecting Lexington, Frankfort, Louisville and Cincinnati. KyRON peers with the higher education KPEN network, the K12 KEN network and the State KIH network.
